We spoke with Jack Hutchens about cycling, and Orro

Please briefly introduce yourself

My name is Jack I am a professional triathlete from North Devon in the South West of the UK. I am also a guide for British Triathlon and Dave Ellis who is in the visually impaired category of para-triathlon.

How many years have you been cycling?

20 years! I started mountain biking when I was at school then got a road bike and before turning to triathlon.

What are your cycling accomplishments?

When I’m on a good day, I have been able to stay with some of the top cyclists in professional triathlon.

Which Orro bike (or bikes) do you use and why?

Venturi Tri: In long course triathlon, aerodynamics is everything, the Venturi Tri has been optimised with this in mind and my CdA is considerably lower than it was on my previous bike. As well as this Orro have managed to make a bike which handles great and light enough to feel really good on the climbs. So it really has everything I am looking for in a race bike.

What stands out to you about Orro bikes?

The quality and attention to detail is incredible, they have focussed on optimising all the parts of the bike that really matter. I also love the simple yet elegant style seen across the models.

What is your favourite British bike ride or trail?

It has to be Exmoor which is local to me, but I have found there to be a lot of good riding all over Wales.

Do you have any tips for cycling enthusiasts?

Don’t forget to eat! I think a lot of people tend to ride without fuelling themselves well enough, this leads to them not getting the most out of the ride or even having a bad experience from being low on energy. So it’s better to keep yourself topped up on carbohydrates and then you can enjoy riding your bike longer and faster!
